The London Underground banned Kneecap from promoting a show due to concerns about “widespread and serious offence.”

The Northern Irish rap trio group from Belfast — which consists of Mo Chara, Móglaí Bap, and DJ Provaí — posted online to say a poster for one of their upcoming shows was disallowed by Transport for London (TfL).

Kneecap, who regularly display pro-Palestinian messages during their gigs, said TfL had no issue advertising their gigs, records or BAFTA-winning film in the past.

Transport leaders are also debating whether to erect additional obstacles to make it more difficult for evaders to “tail-gate” passengers who have paid their fares.

The Metropolitan Police announced last week that they had used facial recognition technology to make their 1,000th arrest of “most-wanted criminals” since the beginning of 2024, including violent robbers, rapists, and paedophiles.

London bus drivers can refuse to get behind wheel if it’s too hot

According to the capital’s transport chief, bus drivers should decline to operate a bus if its air conditioning system is malfunctioning during a heatwave.

A clip of Transport for London commissioner Andy Lord making the comments at a City Hall meeting – after reports of 40C temperatures in drivers’ cabs – has gone viral.

According to a fire update from the Met Police, a man in his 40s has been arrested on suspicion of arson.

It said: “Officers are currently supporting the London Fire Brigade following a fire at a building on Electric Avenue, Brixton.

“No injuries have been reported. Surrounding buildings have been evacuated. One suspect, a man in his 40s, has been arrested on suspicion of arson.

“He remains in police custody. This fire has caused the temporary closure of Brixton Tube Station, due to its close proximity to the incident. This is being kept under review by the British Transport Police.”

No injuries have been reported and emergency services remain at the scene.
