SIoux Falls, SD (Dakota News Now) — During the Memorial Day weekend, several businesses in Sioux Falls aim to contribute to those who have served their country.
Divergent Ink
returned on Saturday with a
Disabled American Veterans (DAV) charity event
.
Accepting walk-in customers exclusively, individuals had the opportunity to get flash tattoos for $120 each, with all earnings being donated to support the nearby DAV chapter.
The tattoo shop aims to turn this fundraising initiative into an annual occurrence with sufficient backing, all for the benefit of veterans.
“There are numerous veterans without homes who lack resources and suffer from PTSD or other mental health problems. Some also face mobility challenges and do not have access to transportation. By funding the DAV, we can provide additional financial support for these veterans, helping them address their needs,” explained Liz Jacob, owner of Divergent Ink.
The fundraising event carries on into Sunday, accepting only cash for drop-in visitors between noon and 6:00 p.m.
