)— As Memorial Day weekend approaches, many people like you are considering taking a trip; they won’t be doing this solo.
The American Automobile Association has projected that an unprecedented 45.1 million individuals will be traveling,
including 617,000 Oregon residents
will journey a minimum of 50 miles away from their homes between Thursday, May 22 and Monday, May 26. The prior high was established in 2005, when 44 million vacationers took to the roads during this holiday period.

On Friday, expect heavy traffic from noon until 8 p.m. Meanwhile, on Saturday, congestion will likely peak between 2 p.m. and 6 p.m. Additionally, AAA has forecasted the optimal as well as the least favorable moments to hit the roads for all other days during this travel period.
Moreover, the firm has pointed out Bend, Lincoln City, Seaside, and Seattle as local getaways expected to attract many travelers from Oregon. As for national attractions, they have mentioned Las Vegas, San Francisco, and Phoenix.
For individuals traveling to their vacation spots, the Portland International Airport anticipates serving over 200,000 passengers during this upcoming three-day weekend, with Friday and Saturday being the peak days. The Port of Portland advises visitors to get to the airport at least two hours prior to their scheduled flights.
