FRANKLIN, Tenn. (WKRN) — Following a two-year restoration project at the historic Hayes House, it has now reopened for the public.
The historic Victorian house from 1899 stands on Harlinsdale Farm in Franklin, where the farm’s manager resided during the mid-1900s. Notably, this was also the place where the renowned Tennessee Walker horse named Midnight Sun both lived and underwent training.

According to
The Friends of Franklin Parks showcased Midnight Sun, who became a two-time World Grand Champion. Various images of this horse are displayed around the house along with furniture that matches the era when the Hayes family resided there.
“We have revived it so that we can share the tale of the farm and the horse, providing everyone with a chance to stroll through time,” said Torrey Barnhill, the Executive Director of Friends of Franklin Parks, to News 2.
