Beginning on Wednesday, individuals traveling by air must possess either a Real ID or a passport.
If your Georgia driver’s license was issued after 2012, it meets the Real ID requirements.
It’s simple to identify a Real ID; you’ll see either a golden or black star in the top right corner of the card.
In 2005, Congress enacted legislation mandating minimum security requirements for state-issued driver’s licenses.
Currently, two decades since then, the deadline has come around. Should you not possess a Real ID, presenting your passport will allow you to clear security checks at airports.
