BAYarts, an education and art center in the Cleveland Metropark’s Huntington Reservation, will hold a community day May 10.
The event will feature more than 20 of BAYarts’ resident artists and provide guests with the opportunity to craft their own creations.
The great aspect is that we aren’t solely concentrating on a single facet of the arts,” explained Linda Goik, the education director at BAYarts. “It also involves inviting external artists to demonstrate our future objective, which is to broaden our facility.
The campus is situated at 28795 Lake Road in Bay Village.
BAYarts will hold its second annual community day on May 10. The event will feature the center’s in-house artists and allow guests to explore the campus’ renovated spaces including the new Artisan Shop. (Submitted)
The event will kick off with a free collage workshop led by New York-based pop artist Michael Albert in celebration of World of Collage Day.
I consistently hope to invite someone from outside our regular teaching faculty to share their creative insights with us,” Goik stated. “Additionally, it benefits the broader community as they get exposed to new experiences and utilize resources that aren’t available at home.
Throughout the day, multiple artists will demonstrate their skills, featuring Sarah Bullington sharing insights into her creative approach as a visually impaired artist, alongside Kevin DeFrank showcasing his method for crafting beeswax candles.
BAYarts will also mark Mother’s Day by providing bud vases filled with fresh blooms along with free mimosas for all mothers.
The gathering will feature an open house allowing visitors to tour the recently refurbished areas of the campus, such as the Artisan Shop, which showcases works from more than 75 local artisans.

It’s a mix of local artists and our team members, with all age groups represented,” Goik stated. “I truly enjoy highlighting individuals who may have been creating artwork at home for many years but now have the chance to share their voices and display their creations.
Goik mentioned that it was crucial for the center to commemorate its resources and the community.
“It’s an excellent occasion to demonstrate all of our current initiatives and our vision for building the future,” she stated.
BAYart’s community day will be held from midday to 3 p.m.
