Lane Closures Set on Route 3 for PennDOT’s Safety Upgrades

NEWTOWN TOWNSHIP, PA

The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation ( PennDOT ) has declared that there will be forthcoming lane closures on Route 3 ( West Chester Pike ) in Newtown Township as part of a regional safety enhancement initiative.

On Thursday, May 8, and Friday, May 9, between 9:00 AM and 3:00 PM, Route 3 will have lane closures in both directions extending from Boot Road to Ellis Avenue. The crews will be working on topsoil and seeding activities during these days.

Drivers passing through the region should expect potential hold-ups and allocate additional time for their journeys due to anticipated traffic jams. It’s important to note that all construction work will only proceed under suitable weather circumstances.

The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation advises motorists to proceed with caution through construction areas and be ready for changes in traffic flow. These upgrades are a continuation of their commitment to improve safety on this section of Route 3.
