Travelers might recognize Southwest’s present fare system, consisting of Business Select, Anytime, and Wanna GetAway Plus options. These will soon have new names: Choice Extra, Choice Preferred, and Choice, correspondingly. The budget-friendly category currently named WannaGetAWay will now be referred to as Southwest’s Basic fare option.

Meanwhile, passengers choosing the Choice Preferred tier can secure either a preferred seat—again, offering normal legroom but located near the front—or simply select a standard seat ahead of time when making their reservation.
Even though the fresh fare packages have been unveiled recently, they won’t be available for purchase until the third quarter of 2025, specifically for trips taking off in 2026.
