To mark Earth Day, one

Kind Traveler
, a company owned by women and veterans that operates as a public benefit corporation, has extended its Every Stay Gives Back initiative to include 20 additional hotels and reach 16 more locations.

Launched in 2023, this distinctive program has amassed over $530,000 for community needs ranging from saving seabirds along the Oregon coastline to supplying fresh fruits and vegetables to underprivileged households in California.

What exactly is the process?

Whenever a visitor reserves a room at a joining hotel—such as those located in areas like Maui, Hawaii; Palermo, Italy; and Martha’s Vineyard, Massachusetts—a share of the earnings goes to support a carefully selected local charity.

They span from wildlife centers and farm sanctuaries to groups dedicated to food security, housing, and environmental rehabilitation. Visitors also get an interactive “impact dashboard” displaying precisely how their funds are being utilized.
