VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. (WAVY) – A fresh hub for entertainment is emerging in Virginia Beach with the rebirth of the Dome at the center of the Oceanfront area. Although the official opening will be held on Sunday, members of the local community and fans of live music were invited to attend a preview event on Friday night.
The updated and enhanced Dome honors its deep heritage while paving a promising path for entertainment in Virginia Beach.

It’s a celebration three decades in the making.
The municipal facility will be managed alongside Live Nation, with the updated structure positioned on the site where the previous location stood before closing down in 1994. This place was renowned for hosting legendary music performances. Although the modern edifice won’t feature a domed appearance, local officials aspire to create a fresh history within these walls.
“This will create a spectacular attraction that everyone can gather around and appreciate at Virginia Beach,” stated Virginia Beach Mayor Bobby Dyer.
Following three decades, the Dome comes back transformed into an indoor-outdoor concert venue. Numerous people are already envisioning the excitement it will generate.
The size of the building is fantastic,” remarked resident Kristina Minitt. “It all looks amazing, state-of-the-art, with an exceptional sound system and everything looking terrific.
This is quite a pleasant surprise,” remarked resident Courtney Rivera. “It’s stunning, something distinct in Virginia Beach, pretty much what we needed. This brings an enhancement, adding something fresh and thrilling to this area.
Numerous people anticipate that the Dome will provide an economic uplift for the Oceanfront area and even further regions, since the openings coincide perfectly with the bustling season, featuring musical performances scheduled well past the summertime.
We have an amazing schedule lined up for the whole summer,” Dyer stated, “and you won’t want to miss what we’ll be offering starting next year and every subsequent year. We’re delivering premier entertainment directly to them, remember that this isn’t just for tourists; it’s for the residents of Virginia Beach. Think of The Dome as their venue.

The band Three Dog Night, which performed at the old venue during its final concert, will inaugurate the new stadium by taking the stage again on Sunday.
