SYDNEY () – Australia’s Foreign Minister Penny Wong expressed alarm on Friday regarding the heightened tensions between Israel and Iran, following reports that Israel had carried out attacks on numerous sites within Iran.
“Australia is concerned about the escalating tensions between Israel and Iran,” Wong said at a press briefing.
Doing this could increase instability in an area that’s already highly volatile.
People in the area should keep an eye on travel advisories from the Australian government in Canberra regarding the Middle East, she mentioned additionally.
Israel stated early Friday that it had launched strikes against Iran, with Iranian sources reporting loud explosions in Tehran amid escalating tensions due to U.S. attempts to persuade Iran to stop producing materials used in nuclear weapons.
