As reported by ABC News, a Delta aircraft experienced a delay at departure from Minneapolis because two pigeons were discovered inside the airplane. The baggage crew managed to catch these birds and remove them. A fellow traveler mentioned that once passengers returned to the plane, a flight attendant informed everyone over the intercom, requesting thorough checks beneath all seat cushions as well as within personal luggage for any more unexpected avian visitors prior to the taxiing process beginning.
I’d choose pigeons over snakes or rats any day, and the comments online about them are quite amusing.
@adanielleprice007: They just crushed those birds’ hopes of finally getting a glimpse of Paris 😢
@dan_pasquinade: These homing pigeons seem to be getting sluggish.
@shoo.fly.dont.bother.me: Each airplane requires a feline companion.
I’d have to check my head and shoulders to ensure none of them had an accident on me. The lesson here? When you hear cooing from up high at 30,000 feet, it could very well be coming from a feathered stowaway rather than your seatmate.
