CARTA’s BeachReach Shuttle: Ride to Paradise Extends Through Labor Day

CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCSC) — The Charleston Area Regional Transportation Authority (CARTA) has launched its yearly Beach Reach shuttle service, offering complimentary transportation to the beach.

The service operates each weekend until Labor Day, traveling from Mount Pleasant Town Centre to Isle of Palms County Park.

Visitors heading to the beach can enjoy complimentary rides on the shuttle, which operates every 15 minutes on Saturdays from 9:15 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., and on Sundays from 9:40 a.m. to 5:55 p.m.

Free rides will exclusively be accessible via the Beach Reach service by purchasing tickets through the Transit app; for all other journeys, regular fare rules apply.

Visitors are invited to bring all necessary gear for a day at the seaside when using the shuttle; however, oversized and cumbersome items such as umbrellas and surfboards won’t be permitted.
