If you’re looking for ways to honor deceased veterans on Memorial Day, there are multiple choices available across the Valley.
On Monday, May 26, you can choose from various activities ranging from official ceremonies to flower arrangements and even a music festivity spanning locations from Gilbert to Avondale and everywhere in between.
Where can you celebrate Memorial Day?
Phoenix
The VA is organizing a public Memorial Day tribute event at
Arizona National Memorial Cemetery.
The event begins at 8 a.m.
Litchfield
A floral tribute will take place along with the sounding of “Taps,” followed by a prayer and a moment of silence at the WWII Memorial located on the western side.
Litchfield Elementary School
It starts at 7 a.m.
Gilbert
A ceremony will take place at
Gilbert Town Hall
The event will begin at 8:30 a.m., featuring a flag and wreath ceremony along with comments from Mayor Scott Anderson.
Avondale
In Avondale, a musical tribute along with an emotional flag-raising ceremony will take place.
Avondale Civic Center Amphitheater
It begins at 8:30 a.m.
