A Hampshire hotel is set to mark Jane Austen’s 250th birthday with a special visitor.
Heckfield Place will host actress and screenwriter Emma Thompson, who will lead a special showing of Sense and Sensibility.
Emma, who both penned, produced, and starred in the movie, will additionally recite journal excerpts from her experience during the production of an adaptation of one of Austen’s most beloved novels. This will be followed by a question-and-answer segment.

The evening provides a special chance to engage with Thompson and delve into the literary legacy of one of England’s most cherished writers, Jane Austen.
Heckfield Place, a refurbished Georgian family residence, sits close to where Austen’s old house once stood in Chawton.
The event is set for Sunday, August 31, between 6:30 PM and 10 PM.
The price of tickets is set at £50.
