In May, which is Honeybee Awareness Month, a local Chicago group is buzzing with activity to raise attention for our furry little helpers.
The Elmhurst-based “Heaven’s Honey” has partnered with Oakton Community College in Skokie to offer complimentary beehive tours.
The tours offer courageous individuals the chance to approach bee hives closely and discover the crucial role that bees play in maintaining our environment.
“Alec Bieschke, the chief beekeeper at Heaven’s Honey, stated that bees pollinate nearly all the food we consume, and without them, most of us would not survive for very long,” he explained.
You can find out more information about the tours on the
Heaven’s Honey Facebook page.
