However, if you find yourself slightly low on funds, have procrastinated making reservations, or simply wish for a change this time around, here are alternative methods to honor your mother or another influential maternal figure in your life.

Methods for Celebrating Mother’s Day Across Erie


1. Go for a hike, bike ride, or jog:

Explore nature with your entire clan along one of the numerous routes near the Erie region. You can stroll on the concrete pathways at Frontier Park, walk on the wooden boards at Asbury Woods, or trek through the tracks at Erie Bluffs State Park. For those who enjoy multiple activities like hiking, cycling, and rollerblading, try the asphalted Multi-Purpose Trail located within Presque Isle State Park.
E.A.R.S. 5K Bun Run
The event, featuring a 1-mile walk choice, is scheduled for May 10 at 9 a.m. at the Harborcreek Community Park field located at 5850 Firman Road. The registration fee is $25. The Erie Runners Club will organize this event.
Mother’s Day 5K recreational run/walk
On May 11 at 9 a.m., registration starts at the Clark Road entry point for Harborcreek Community Park. The fee for enrollment is $20.

Glow Wild:

This exclusive event takes place from Thursday through Sunday evenings at the
Erie Zoo
Features more than 40 intricately crafted lanterns designed to resemble some of your beloved creatures. You’ll also get to see the actual animals at the zoo. Adult tickets cost $22, while child tickets are priced at $18. Should you choose to visit the zoo during regular day hours on Mother’s Day, your maternal figure will receive
half-off general zoo admission

3. Search for the birds:

This Mother’s Day occurs the day following World Migratory Bird Day, making either occasion perfect for gazing at the skies over Erie.
Erie Bird Observatory
carries out bird banding at Fry’s Landing within Presque Isle State Park every Friday from 10 AM to 2 PM, Saturday from 10 AM to 3 PM, and Sunday from Noon to 4 PM until June 1st.


4. Treat her to a baseball game:

The
Erie SeaWolves
will be back home for Mother’s Day weekend, hosting games on May 10 and 11 at 1:35 p.m. On May 11, there will be a special Mother’s Day buffet available in the Stadium Club for $54. Standard game ticket prices remain at $15 and $18.50.

of the month event at the Erie Art Museum, 20 E. Fifth St. That means you can drop in from 2 to 4 p.m. for family art-making. This month, participants will create botanical drawings with special guest activity leader Ana Balcazar. Admission is pay-what-you-wish. May 10 is a

The monthly event at the Inner-City Neighborhood Art House, located at 201 E. 10th St., offers free face painting and various creative activities suitable for all age groups, such as making personalized beaded wire suncatchers, running from 8 to 11 a.m.


6. Head over to the gardens:

Goodell Gardens & Homestead, located at 221 Waterford Street in Edinboro, is accessible from Wednesday through Sunday between 11 AM and 5 PM. Visit their shop during these hours.

On May 10, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., enjoy complimentary entry. This special event called “The Very Important Mom” offers tea, pastries, and flower bouquets for $60 per person. Additionally, on the same day, the Penn State Extension Master Gardeners of Erie County will host their yearly celebration.
