is back open after a mechanical issue caused it to close for multiple hours on Monday.
What we know
The Washington State Department of Transportation initially reported the bridge closure at approximately 2 p.m. on Monday.
The bridge reportedly experienced a mechanical malfunction during a routine closure for a marine vessel at 1:02 p.m.
Crews worked to resolve the issue for several hours, eventually reopening the bridge around 9:30 p.m.
Drivers were asked to take a detour through Shelton via State Route 3 and US 101, which added about four hours of travel time.
