Flooding in Village of Fredonia, drivers asked to avoid travel

Heavy rainfall on Monday led to significant flooding in portions of Western New York. The Village of Fredonia experienced extensive inundation in districts such as Ventura, Gardner, and Sunset.

The mayor of Fredonia Village, Michael Ferguson, stated that police and firefighters are collaborating to ensure safety in certain zones, and locals are advised against undertaking non-essential trips in these regions.

The National Weather Service office in Buffalo has released a Special Marine Warning covering Lake Erie between Van Buren Point and Sunset Bay, valid through 8 p.m. today. According to their statement, a cluster of intense thunderstorms was spotted close to Dunkirk and advancing northward at approximately 25 knots.
