SARASOTA, Fla. (WWSB) -The Ringling Museum of Art will launch a new program this summer, teaching teens how to guide guests around the museum.
Museum Education Coordinator Jane Harris will run the program. She said, “We’re so excited to have them volunteer here.”
The Ringling said it currently has a little over a hundred tour guides, a corps it has rebuilt since the pandemic.
It’s simply an enchanting location,” tour guide Anne Stokes remarked. ” Aren’t we lucky that we’ll have the chance to learn from them?
Not only will the teen guides lead groups of visitors through the museum, but according to Harris, they will also have the opportunity to create their own exhibition, showcasing artworks by student artists statewide.
The Ringling, which is the amalgamation of works collected by John and Mable Ringling during their lifetimes, is the flagship state art museum in Florida.
