Vacaville’s Pre-Bang Ban: What You Need to Know

June 16 — The Vacaville Fire Department initiated the first of two week-long fireworks collection events on Monday.

From Monday through Friday between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m., locals have the option to anonymously surrender their leftover fireworks at the Fire Administration Office located at 630 Merchant Street. In return for these items, which they will discard securely, individuals will be presented with a gift card redeemable at nearby stores, subject to availability.

The procedure will occur from June 30 to July 3.

The city of Vacaville has declared all fireworks prohibited within its limits, with local authorities emphasizing their dedication to ensuring community safety through a statement posted on social media. This advisory is part of an enhanced public education initiative initiated by the Fire Department. An earlier posting from the department specified that this prohibition encompasses every kind of firework, including those marked as “safe and sane,” which people often incorrectly believe are allowed.

To strengthen this communication, the city has implemented further measures such as installing conspicuous signs at area fire station entrances and increasing online engagement. The objective behind these actions is to educate citizens regarding the stringent fireworks regulation and caution them about potential penalties amounting to as much as $1,000 for those who break the rule.

While personal fireworks are prohibited, the city is once again offering a safe and festive alternative for those looking to celebrate Independence Day. The annual professional fireworks display will return to Andrews Park this year, accompanied by an evening of live music and community festivities.

On Friday, July 4th, from 6:30 to 9:30 PM, families have the opportunity to experience an exhilarating performance by Glory Dayz, a vibrant group famous for blending classic rock tunes with catchy pop melodies and nostalgic doo-wop favorites. This event forms part of Vacaville’s well-loved Friday evening Creekwalk Concert Series. As the day wraps up, spectators will be treated to a spectacular fireworks display illuminating the heavens above the park.

Participants are invited to bring folding chairs and picnic mats for an enjoyable watching session. An array of food and drink sellers will be present onsite, providing snacks and drinks during the night. The organizers ask community members to keep their animals at home.

Residents who cannot make it in person can watch the event live on the city’s official YouTube channel, enabling everybody to join in the festivities comfortably at home.

The collaborative initiative between the city and fire department showcases Vacaville’s continuous dedication to ensuring public safety, while also offering residents an enjoyable, lively, and secure means to commemorate the Fourth of July, according to city officials.
