A CIVIL war-themed village fete with re-enactments, games and farmyard animals was enjoyed by hundreds of visitors.
The Sherfield-on-Loddon Fair was held on Saturday, June 14, between noon and 5 pm at the village green, attracting many guests eager to partake in the entertainment and activities.
This year’s theme focused on the English Civil War, with approximately 50 reenactors participating from the
Sealed Knot Society
, led by
Prince Rupert’s Bluecoats
– a 17th century Royalist regiment during the Civil War – performed re-enactments of drill and skirmish with pikes and muskets.

Dancers from U3A offered thrilling performances alongside a showcase of vintage vehicles and impressive circus acts.
Fencing competitions, tug of war, and a massive raffle added excitement to the entertaining afternoon, complemented by live tunes, canine exhibitions, and Zumba sessions.
