New Tourist Hub Unveiled: Your Gateway to Exploration!

A local board anticipates that a newly established tourist info center will highlight the finest attractions the county has to offer.

The Discover Northamptonshire tourist information center has started operations at the Northampton Museum and Art Gallery.

It provides a spacious map for tourists along with brochures and an interactive display for visitors.

James Petter, who serves as the Deputy Leader and cabinet member for local economy, culture, and leisure at West Northamptonshire Council, mentioned that the county boasts an “incredible assortment” of attractions to visit.

The issue we face is our inability to effectively communicate this information to others; for instance, if someone mentioned ‘Northampton,’ most people likely couldn’t pinpoint its location on a map,” explained the Reform UK council member.

Petter mentioned that the team was already exploring various locations throughout the county for potential installation of informational kiosks.

The touch-screen display features QR codes enabling visitors to save details of attractions they like directly onto their smartphones.

It reflects the Discover Northamptonshire center that has been set up at Rushden Lakes.

Richard Clinton, who chairs the Northamptonshire Local Visitor Economy Partnership, stated that the information center plays a crucial role in supporting the “visitor economy.”

The information center has received funding from the government.
