London Travel Update: M25 Anticlockwise Closure After Multi-Car Crash

Drivers on the M25 are experiencing holdups of up to an hour today due to a multiple-vehicle crash that has halted traffic near Essex.

The National Highways reports that Essex police are at the location and have shifted the affected cars to the hard shoulder of the M25 heading anti-clockwise from Junction 28 to Junction 27 in Essex.

The traffic monitoring platform INRIX stated that the accident involved three cars, however, no injuries have been reported.

It’s believed that the traffic jam extended for about five miles, however, things should start improving once the accident site is cleaned up.

In another area, passengers utilizing London Overground services encountered delays today due to technical problems affecting trains running between Dalston Junction and Highbury & Islington on the Windrush line.

Highways continue to stay shut down near Stoke Newington due to a suspected gas blast on Dumont Road earlier today, which required the attention of about 40 fire brigades. Although authorities believe the situation is now contained, expect disruptions in traffic during the early part of the day as investigators look into the matter further.

One lane of the M25 going anti-clockwise is still closed off from J25 (A10) to J24 (Potters Bar).

Reports indicate long lines extending all the way to junction 26. This situation is caused by a vehicle fire and an oil spill incident.

Consequently, the M11 heading towards London is likewise sluggish from junction 6 (M25) all the way to junction 4 (A406 North Circular Road).

Yesterday, according to The Standard, a bus collided with a cyclist near London Bridge. The woman involved was transported to the hospital for treatment of a leg injury.

Another bus crash occurred yesterday in New Addington, Croydon.

A number 130 bus collided with a tram track at the intersection where Lodge Lane meets Field Way.


The London Ambulance Service stated they were alerted to the location at 2:38 pm.

A single patient received treatment for injuries to their chest and arm.

People who have witnessed the event or possess dashboard camera recordings are urged to get in touch with law enforcement through the number 101, mentioning when and where the occurrence took place.

The police have advised people not to go into parts of London’s Square Mile following an incident where someone plummeted from a structure.

Emergency responders arrived at a “height-related incident” on Old Broad Street around 9:45 AM on Wednesday.

No additional information has been provided regarding the person involved.

Chief Inspector James Minney, from the City of London Police, stated: “The officers from the City of London Police are presently handling an incident occurring on Old Broad Street.”

Law enforcement officials reached the location approximately at 9:45 am.

Cordon lines have been established, and authorities are advising people to stay away from the location if they can, as first responders continue their efforts.

Additional information regarding the incident has been disclosed by a representative from the London Ambulance Service: “At 8:29 am today (June 11), we received calls concerning a road traffic crash occurring on London Bridge, SE1.”

We dispatched an ambulance crew, an incident response officer, and a clinical team manager to the location.

Our initial paramedics reached the location in about five minutes.

We attended to a woman with a leg injury and rushed her to a major trauma center on an urgent basis.
