The Timber Lake Playhouse, which is Illinois’ longest-running professional summer theater, has declared the comeback of the popular musical “Rock of Ages.” The show will commence on June 20 and continue until July 6, according to a news release.
This electric revival follows the record-breaking success of TLP’s original 2016 production, which remains the highest-attended show in the theater’s history.
Set against the backdrop of Los Angeles’ famous Sunset Strip, “Rock of Ages” follows the journey of Drew, a young man from the city who harbors aspirations of becoming a rock star, and Sherrie, a woman from a rural area seeking stardom. This show brims with comedy, love stories, and the vibrant spirit of the ’80s, incorporating classic tunes like “Don’t Stop Believing,” “Here I Go Again,” and “Wanted: Dead orAlive.”
Tickets can be obtained from the Timber Lake Playhouse Box Office by calling 815-244-2035; they are accessible daily between 10 a.m. and 5 p.m., as well as during intermissions on show nights.
