as a flight attendant
For four distinct airlines, 120 complimentary flights were reserved across a span of six years.
According to a
press release
The U.S. Attorney from the Southern District of Florida reports that 35-year-old Tiron Alexander falsely posed as a flight attendant for several airlines from 2018 through 2024. He gained unauthorized access to the carriers’ booking systems meant for employees, allowing him to secure complimentary flights by utilizing these privileges.
On June 5, Alexander was found guilty of wire fraud and falsely gaining access to a secured section of an airport. The legal papers mentioned several airlines including Southwest Airlines, American Airlines, and Delta Air Lines.
Alexander took 34 free flights with one carrier by impersonating a crew member, utilizing 30 distinct identification numbers and employment start dates for these bookings. Additionally, he posed as a flight attendant for three other airlines to secure even more journeys at no cost.
Alexander is set to be sentenced on August 25. The highest possible sentence for wire fraud is 20 years, and he could face up to 10 additional years for falsely accessing secure airport zones.
