Florida Man Foils Security: Books 120 Free Flights as Fake Flight Attendant

For four distinct airlines, a total of 120 complimentary flights were reserved over a span of six years.

The U.S. Attorney from the Southern District of Florida reports that 35-year-old Tiron Alexander falsely posed as a flight attendant for several major airlines from 2018 through 2024. During this time, he gained unauthorized access to airline websites meant exclusively for employees so he could reserve complimentary flights utilizing staff perks.

On June 5, Alexander was found guilty of wire fraud and falsely gaining access to a secured section of an airport. The legal papers mention several airlines including Southwest Airlines, American Airlines, and Delta Air Lines.

Alexander boarded 34 flights for free by posing as a crew member on one airline. To do this, he used 30 distinct identification codes and hired-on dates to reserve these flights at no cost. Additionally, he falsely presented himself as a flight attendant for three other airlines to secure even more trips.

Alexander is set to be sentenced on August 25. The highest possible sentence for wire fraud is 20 years, and he could also face up to 10 years for falsely accessing secured airport zones.
