Ex-Naval Vet Rips Trump’s $45M ‘Nazi Germany’ Birthday Parade as “Stupid”

, on Constitution Avenue in Washington, D.C. Micheal Embrich, the former policy adviser to secretary for the VA, said: “[The Trump Administration] is wasting all this money on this stupid military parade.”

“It’s a page out of a dictator’s playbook. It’s not America; it’s not what we do. Everybody knows we have the best trained, strongest and most lethal military in the world. We don’t need to have a parade about it. That’s what dictators like North Korea and Russia do. Even back to Nazi Germany and fascist Italy.” Embrich added President Trump wants the “world to be in terror of the US military” but it contradicts America’s reputation as a liberator.

US Army officials state that President Trump’s parade may cost around $45 million; however, this figure does not cover expenses related to cleanup, potential street damages, or policing costs. Embrich thinks this estimation is deliberately underestimated to conceal the true amount from the public.

The parade might set back over $100 million once you factor in the expense of fueling the tanks and airplanes involved, along with the costs for soldiers’ travel and meals. Additionally, we can expect some wear and tear on city streets caused by heavy military vehicles as well as “who knows what other disastrous issues could arise,” according to him.

What particularly infuriates the former federal government official is the Trump Administration’s reductions in funding for the Veterans Affairs (VA) and several educational programs designed to support service members. This occurs as they assert that the parade marks both the U.S. Army’s 250th anniversary and coincidentally aligns with President Trump’s 79th birthday.

In March, an internal memorandum acquired by the Associated Press exposed plans within the White House to dismiss approximately 80,000 workers from the Veterans Affairs department before the conclusion of the year. This would represent the largest reduction in staff among all federal agencies under what was referred to as the Department of Government Efficiency. This organization plays a crucial role in supporting veterans through essential services such as medical care and aid related to housing loans.

“He mentioned, ‘It’s going to harm veterans,’ as they plan to dismiss 80,000 individuals from the VA, including numerous disabled personnel.” President Trump’s clear mismanagement of federal finances extends beyond this issue.

This week, the White House dispatched at least 4,000 National Guard members to Los Angeles following anti-immigrant demonstrations that erupted in the downtown region. Additionally, 200 U.S. Marines were sent to protect the Westwood federal building from protesters. Embrich noted that this action mirrored how Britain once utilized its military as law enforcement when governing American colonies during the 17th and 18th centuries—a practice forbidden under today’s U.S. Constitution.

The ex-government officer concurred with Governor Gavin Newsom of California, stating that deploying numerous soldiers to Los Angeles was merely a “charade” aimed at attracting media attention. According to Embrich, marines do not have the authority to carry out arrests and must remain within the boundaries of the premises under protection. This implies that these military personnel will largely be idle as public funds cover expenses such as gear, food, transportation, and lodging for them, potentially amounting to tens of millions of dollars, according to Embrich’s estimation.

What sort of misuse of resources does it represent to mobilize the National Guard, who are entirely unprepared for this situation, receiving their instructions with very little notice? Trump is acting like there’s a major crisis in Los Angeles when really, the forces are only protecting one structure.

“Is Los Angeles really ‘in flames’ when the military is only protecting one building?” Embrich questioned, referring to the President’s Truth Social post that justified deploying troops to the city despite Governor Newsom’s disapproval.

In yet another alarming development, Marines dispatched to Los Angeles were said to have started taking over duties from National Guard personnel on Friday, as reported.
