There’s an update regarding Lady Kate. The tour boat typically used for sightseeing hasn’t been docked at the Perry Monument location, which is normally where they pick up visitors.
Additionally, a notification on the Presque Isle Boat Tours website alerts visitors that the seasonal start has been pushed back.
That’s due to its location in Amphitheater Park. On Thursday, Tim Sedney, president of Presque Isle Boat Tours, clarified the reason.
He mentioned that the Lady Kate is undergoing essential maintenance on its drive shaft and plates. This work comes after a five-year hull inspection conducted by the Coast Guard.
“We initiated that procedure during the wintertime. However, obviously, Mother Nature has not been cooperating with us. As a result, everything keeps getting postponed time after time. The Coast Guard steps in to oversee the progress of the work as it unfolds. Hopefully, within this upcoming week, we will finally launch,” Sedney explained to us.
Sydney said the Coast Guard will conduct one final inspection once the boat is launched. After that, they’ll resume operations.
