The city hosting this weekend’s race at the Autódromo Hermanos Rodríguez faced several issues with travel logistics. The Haas Factory Team was among those encountering obstacles and hold-ups during their journey, which has disrupted the planned timetable for the racing event.

A technical issue with an airplane led NASCAR staff to locate one that was approved for flying to the event site. Journalist Matt Weaver mentioned that the aircraft ceased its departure following the pilot’s report of a likely bird strike that damaged the second engine. This was shared on X:

The pilot of a plane filled with NASCAR professionals that was unable to lift off mentioned, “I’m not sure if we hit a bird, but Engine 2 exploded.” [sic]

The people from the aviation sector have left the aircraft and retrieved their baggage.

A few minutes afterward, he updated his status on X stating that efforts were being made to secure a aircraft permitted to fly across the borderline. He mentioned this in a post:

“The consensus from those flying right now is that they are waiting to find a plane that is authorized to fly across the border.

NASCAR has stated once again that they are conscious of the situation and are currently endeavoring to bring everybody to CDMX.

Xfinity driver Ryan Ellis shared on the same platform that his flight was repeatedly delayed. He mentioned this in a post he made.

Returning home once more (haha). The commercial flight I’m on, which includes a layover afterwards, continues to be postponed.

Weaver covered event X where he mentioned that the Haas Factory Team had to book seats on a commercial flight when they couldn’t use their charter aircraft. He stated this in his report.

The Haas Factory Team staff members are traveling to Atlanta to catch a commercial flight to Mexico following the problem with their chartered aircraft.

In a separate post, Weaver elaborated about the Haas team members who traveled to Atlanta to catch their flight to Mexico. He shared this information on X:

Specifically for Haas, three drivers, three crew chiefs, and two car chiefs spanning both divisions are heading to Atlanta Airport to catch a commercial flight to Mexico City.

Despite the precise cause of several aviation problems remaining unknown, the late arrival in Mexico led NASCAR to adjust the race weekend itinerary.
