ST. LOUIS – The tornado that struck St. Louis on May 16 resulted in approximately $7 million worth of damages across four properties owned by the Urban League of Metropolitan St. Louis, with their main office being among them. Despite this setback, the organization, having served the community for over 107 years, remains committed to providing support amidst the challenges following the storm.
The Urban League has distributed over $1.5 million worth of essential goods to those affected by the storms, such as food, water, and cleaning materials. They collaborated with various local enterprises, particularly AT&T, Little Caesars, Grimco, and more, to supply these items along with additional assistance.
The Urban League is organizing an additional tornado aid distribution event on Saturday, June 14, at their main office situated at 1408 North Kingshighway, St. Louis, Missouri 63113. The event will kick off at midday. Many individuals requiring help usually arrive several hours prior to when distributions begin.
The Urban League needs volunteers and donations to continue its unrelenting work. If you would like to volunteer or donate to the Urban League, visit ULSTL.com or call 314-615-3600.
