Shreveport’s Irene Gallion to Feature Art in ‘Chillin in the Garden’ Exhibit

— Local Shreveport-based artist
Irene Gallion
will display her art pieces in an individual exhibition.

The Shreveport-native pianist triumphed at a Russian piano contest during the Cold War, inspiring people everywhere.

Gallion’s artwork will be featured in the “Chillin in The Garden” exhibition. Her creations largely revolve around the subjects of community, family, and friendship with the intention to motivate and encourage viewers. Born and brought up in Natchitoches, she began painting during her elementary school years. In 2019, she presented her inaugural individual art showcase named “Me, Myself & Irene” in Shreveport.

The Shreveport-based artist has been named a resident artist at the Bossier Arts Council for 2024 and will be recognized as the 2025 Critics’ Choice for Visual Artist.

The “Chillin In The Garden” exhibition will be held at the Lake Street Gallery on Thursday, June 12, between 6:00 p.m. and 8:00 p.m.
