HONOLULU (KHON2) — There is great enthusiasm among locals as the NFL’s Los Angeles Rams prepare to hold their summer mini-camp in Wailuku next week. Authorities anticipate that such collaborations will provide a significant uplift to Hawaii’s tourist sector.
The Yaroshuk family hasn’t visited Hawaii in 18 years. Thus, they’re making sure to cherish every moment they have there.
Just a pleasant escape,” remarked Lina Yaroshuk, who came from Toronto. “Only 10 days off from the normal routine—people want to head somewhere during vacations where they can unwind, get into some hiking, you know, explore places they haven’t visited in a long time.
Not alone in their return to the islands this summer, the Los Angeles Rams are set for their Maui mini-camp scheduled for next week.
“Let’s not fool ourselves; we’re not accomplishing anything related to football, but it will be a great opportunity for us to bond. We’ll make the most of this trip and look forward to next week,” stated Sean McVay, the head coach of the Los Angeles Rams.

“Whenever there’s a major event like a football training camp or a concert held in our state, revenues typically increase as numerous visitors arrive from across the nation,” stated Representative Adrian Tam, who chairs the House Tourism Committee.
The timing couldn’t be better. Even though the state says visitors numbers are up so far this year compared to last year, they’re expecting a modest slowdown during summer. According to a statement from Department of Business, Economic Development and Tourism Director James Tokioka, caused by political and economic uncertainties both nationally and internationally.
“I can’t comprehend this, just take a glance around; everyone would surely be able to enjoy themselves,” Yaroshuk stated.

Authorities claim that for our tourism sector to not just endure but flourish, we must provide additional attractions or services.
“Our beaches and natural surroundings play an enormous role; they’re essential for our brand identity at one hundred percent,” Tam stated. “However, we must offer visitors something beyond just these attractions. It’s crucial that we explore innovative ideas such as hosting concerts, sports events, and conferences.”
So individuals such as the Yaroshuks won’t wait an additional 18 years to return.
