MATTYDALE, N.Y. (WSYR-TV) — You asked, we answered!
Viewer Inquiry: What business is opening at the former Zebb’s location in Mattydale?
Here’s some fresh news about a well-known bar and grill famous for delicious hamburgers, their signature topping station, and memorable experiences.
Zebb’s, situated in the Mattydale Plaza, shut down last autumn. It had served as a mainstay along Route 11 for almost four decades.
A fresh addition is coming to the menu.
Frank Bell, who owns Maplewood Bar & Grill, is currently revamping Zebb’s with intentions to launch his new eatery this coming summer.
Recently, Maplewood Bar & Grill ceased operations within the Holiday Inn Syracuse Airport located on 7th North Street. According to Bell, the eatery had been serving customers for over three years until it closed down in February.
Bell mentioned that he had shut down operations with plans to move elsewhere. He stated that his search for the ideal place had lasted around a year. Bell was drawn to the previous Zebb’s due to its ample area. The dining establishment encompasses almost 5,800 square feet of space.
This feels like a homecoming for Bell, as he previously worked at Zebb’s many years back.
Currently, Bell is updating the interior. He mentioned that Zebb’s had quite an 1980s vibe. The glass cube walls have been taken out, and various contemporary touches are being incorporated.
It will include an area designated for live music as well. According to Bell, Maplewood Bar & Grill has gained recognition for its live musical acts.
We’ll update you about this summer’s opening date soon!
