Magic Key Holders Get Exclusive: 70th Anniversary Photo Ops & “Paint the Night” Poster Debut at Disneyland Resort

In celebration of the 70th anniversary of the Disneyland Resort, special photo opportunities have been introduced in the Hyperion Theater Courtyard at Disney California Adventure. Additionally, this is whereMagic Key holders can obtain their free Paint the Night poster during this exclusive period.

The
Magic Key holder event
Commencing on May 27 and continuing until June 2, 2025, the event encompasses both photo opportunities and the complimentary souvenir poster. The scheduled timings are as follows:

  • Monday through Friday – 3:30 p.m. to 8 p.m.
  • Saturday and Sunday – from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.

To take part in this event, Magic Key members need to possess an active membership card and sign up for a virtual waiting list via the Disneyland application. Visitors who hold reservations for either Disney California Adventure or Disneyland Park can join the morning seven o’clock digital lineup. Each member is restricted to just one spot in the online waitlist and one commemorative poster.

The initial photo opportunity is based around the theme of “Pirates of the Caribbean.” This setting has been crafted to resemble the jail scene from the movies, allowing visitors to pose with metal bars as a backdrop and pretend they’re shouting at the dog who holds the key.

The second picture opportunity is designed around the theme “Alice in Wonderland.” Participants can pose standing behind a cutout of an elaborately colored pink and yellow teacup, giving the illusion that they are floating down the rabbit hole into Wonderland.

The last photo opportunity features a plain wall adorned with colored blocks in red, yellow, and blue, with either the Disneyland Resort or Magic Key logo inscribed on each block.

The Hyperion Theater Courtyard features a special themed photo booth where guests can get free prints. Although the booth itself looks typical in terms of size and design, it stands out because the front screen displays the Magic Key logo. You’ll see images of Mickey and Minnie there as well.

During our visit, each photo opportunity had waiting periods ranging from 30 minutes to an hour, plus an extra half-hour wait for receiving the photographs.
