Art Unveiled: Key Details on Gaston Arts Council’s Exciting Upcoming Fundraiser

The Gaston Arts Council is organizing a fundraising event aimed at highlighting the different artistic groups within the local area.

The fundraising event, scheduled for June 12 from 6-9 p.m. at Muddy River Distillery in Mount Holly, will showcase 17 groups dedicated to promoting the arts in Gaston County. This was stated by Steph Newman, who serves as the chair of the Board of Directors for the Gaston Arts Council.

“As we’ve started reintegrating with the community and understanding how we, as an arts council, fit into Gaston County’s art scene, it became evident that our main role should be acting as connectors and promoters for the arts throughout the county,” Newman stated. “There are numerous groups accomplishing remarkable things; however, their efforts aren’t always widely known.”

The tickets for the event will cost $35 per individual, or $25 for members of the Gaston Arts Council. Newman mentioned that this financial backing will assist the organization in maintaining its present operational standards.

“She mentioned that each ticket comes with a drink voucher along with some snacks and refreshments available onsite. The revenue generated through these tickets will be utilized to support our operations and further our mission as we aim to expand and recover. However, this year we foresee a slight financial shortfall due to reduced contributions towards our usual sources because many donors are redirecting their funds toward relief efforts related to Hurricane Helene—a redirection entirely justified under current circumstances. Our objective now is to bridge this fiscal gap prior to concluding the calendar year. Such assistance would significantly aid in sustaining our ongoing activities,” she explained.

The Gaston Arts Council aims to amass $12,500 by June 30 to support its local initiatives, secured grants, and lobbying activities.
