United, Chicago’s local carrier, has declared its intention to introduce additional flights to its currently bustling itinerary.

Chicago O’Hare International Airport

This autumn, the airline plans to celebrate its most crowded flight schedule yet. They are introducing additional non-stop trips to various sunny locales.

This year, United plans to operate more flights than ever before, particularly during the autumn season when they’ll offer even more routes compared to summertime. In November, an additional 50 flights will take off from Chicago, along with a 10 percent increase in service for trips heading down south to sun-soaked Florida.

592 Flights A Day

United will operate as many as 592 flights each day.

Throughout October, you’ll notice an increase in flight numbers compared to the summer months. Services will be extended to destinations such as Phoenix, Austin, and Orlando, along with increased service to Costa Rica, Mexico, Saint Martin, and the Dominican Republic.

Chicago’s continued expansion through autumn will build upon what has already been an exceptionally record-breaking summer season, marked by having the highest number of flights seen within two decades. During just the month of July, daily seat capacity is expected to hit a high point of 71,000. Omar Idris, who serves as United’s Vice President for O’Hare Airport, highlighted how United plans to offer customers increased options throughout both the upcoming summer and fall seasons.

Leveraging the expected record-breaking surge from the previous season, we’re expanding even further this autumn with what will be our most extensive flight schedule of the year—introducing additional routes and enhancing services to sunny locations within the U.S. and across the globe. It’s an unprecedented moment for our home base at O’Hare International Airport as we provide our passengers access to one of the broadest networks out of Chicago along with cutting-edge features both before takeoff and during your journey.

Six Expanded Destinations

This spring, United has enhanced its services on the ground with a recently refurbished and enlarged Polaris Lounge at O’Hare International Airport. This updated lounge boasts an additional 50% more space compared to its previous size, providing travelers with approximately 25,000 square feet of lounging area. Additionally, passengers flying with United have access to the web via Starlink-enabled planes on certain routes, ensuring continuous connectivity from boarding until landing.

This autumn, six flights departing from O’Hare will have their timetables increased and prolonged until November, targeting Latin American and Caribbean locations such as Costa Rica, Mexico, Saint Martin, Guatemala, and the Dominican Republic. Here are the details:

United Airlines has kept expanding its presence in Chicago, transforming the airport into one of the most well-connected hubs in the U.S. It’s enhancing service offerings to an even greater number of destinations from Chicago, bolstering its already highly favored routes within domestic locations such as Florida, Arizona, and Texas. Additionally this year, flights will commence to three new domestic spots: Columbia in Missouri, Watertown in South Dakota, and West Lafayette in Indiana.

In the local scene, United retains over 18,000 employees in the Chicago region. Recently, the company has already recruited an additional 2,000 team members with plans to add another 5,400 personnel by 2027.
