.)

“They might simply dislike individuals. I’m not sure, but I strongly believe they particularly despise pregnant women,” he went on to say, as Joy claimed that their interaction with the airline was the most difficult part of her pregnancy.

Joy mentioned that she and Viall got to the airport ahead of time with their puppy so they could catch their flight back to Los Angeles following her appearance as a special guest on the “Call Her Daddy” podcast tour in Toronto. Despite being prepared for their departure, an employee at the desk informed them that they wouldn’t be permitted on board since they hadn’t checked in 90 minutes prior to their scheduled departure.

Joy and Viall were referred to the airline’s website, which allegedly stated that passengers could “likely” miss their flight if they did not check in 90 minutes prior. The couple, who tied the knot in 2024, later learned that their original flight was delayed. They eventually made it home, waiting five hours at the airport.

Everyone employed at Air Canada allegedly refuses to assist you,” Viall claimed. “They do not. They actually take pleasure in being unhelpful.

Air Canada addressed the issue in a formal statement.

To guarantee that luggage is properly loaded and passengers board in time for every departure, and to allow sufficient time for security checks and, when required, customs clearance, similar to other carriers, we enforce specific deadlines for travelers,” their statement said. “These deadlines are available on our website and communicated via our mobile application after a customer completes check-in; this notification includes details about these timings. Additionally, customers who haven’t completed check-in 5 hours prior to their scheduled flight will get an extra reminder with the relevant cutoff information.

Nick Viall Says Air Canada ‘Dislikes’ Expecting Mothers in Tirade Against Airline

November 2023

Prior to sharing their travel experiences with Air Canada on “The Viall Files” podcast, Viall had previously criticized the airline through a post on X back in November 2023.

Air Canada responded saying, “Hello, we regret hearing about your unsatisfactory experience with us. Kindly send us a direct message containing further information so we can investigate this matter.”

Viall pointed out that it had become “too late” for the airline to resolve the issue. He stated, “‘The staff member at counter 12-5 in the business class queue showed zero concern for my pregnant fiancée having to catch her flight,’ he explained. ‘By sharing this terrible encounter, I aim to warn others away from using your airline so they won’t endure similar hardships.'”

Nick Viall Denounces ‘Nonsense Speculations’ as Natalie Joy Faces Infidelity Allegations

May 2024

The pair, along with their daughter and Joy’s mother, journeyed to Turks and Caicos for their honeymoon but encountered an issue at customs upon arrival. In a May 2024 episode of his podcast “The Viall Files,” Nick Viall recounted that as they waited for their passports to be processed, officials noticed a torn page in Joy’s passport. They were reportedly informed that this meant they weren’t allowed into the country.

Joy was “crying uncontrollably” during their honeymoon due to a travel obstacle, while Viall attempted to stay composed.

“I thought, ‘Everything will be alright. We’ll probably receive some sort of lecture, but we’re definitely going to be okay,’” Viall mentioned, adding that they had been informed they would return to the U.S. “[The officer] glanced at me and asked, ‘Will you still head to your hotel?’ I replied, ‘I’m not abandoning my spouse.’”

He went on, “Natalie is sobbing, and although I seem composed, I am brimming with anxiety inside. I keep reminding myself, ‘This is only day two on the job. Now it’s time to be a supportive spouse. This is your moment to take charge and remain calm. Everything will work out fine.'”

Viall pointed out that the circumstance
“felt like a nightmare,”
They mentioned that they purchased nonrefundable tickets and “chose to invest” in their honeymoon. The family was scheduled to be on “the earliest available flight,” but encountered a six-hour aircraft delay followed by the cancellation of their flight because of a maintenance problem. Delta Airlines accommodated them by providing lodging at a nearby hotel for one evening.

“It could have been far worse [and] we only had one night,” Viall stated.

Nick Viall Felt ‘Insecure’ During Initial Stages of His Relationship With NatalieJoy

May 2025

In an episode of the “The Viall Files” podcast in May 2025, Joy mentioned that they were in business class on a flight departing from Los Angeles when she noticed a woman.
texting about their daughter
Joy observed that River seemed talkative but wasn’t crying.

Joy mentioned, “The lady standing in front of me seemed approachable; she smiled at me when we boarded together.” He continued, “‘But then I saw what was written on her screen—it started with ‘an 18-month-old traveling in business class,’—and immediately thought, ‘Here comes another challenge.’”

Joy mentioned that the woman started sending messages to her “contacts” stating there was a “young pair” seated behind her in business class accompanied by their “approximately [1]-year-old child” who was crying loudly. According to the texts, Viall and Joy were described as individuals who find such behavior “adorable,” but they should be taught how to calm their child down since “the lady beside me is attempting to focus on her work.”

Joy observed that the woman had misspelled “their” in her message, so she pointed out the error during their conversation with the passenger.

As she completes her message, I sit up and gently touch her shoulder, saying, ‘The correct word is “their.” It’s their child, not “there,”’ recounted Joy. In response, Viall admitted he wasn’t aware of what was happening but mentioned hearing the ladies talk about the misspelling. The woman then queried if she was checking her phone when Joy responded with, ‘Were you writing about my kid?’

Joy claimed, “She sort of sighs loudly, spins around, pulls out her phone, making sure it’s at the same level with the same brightness and text size, and then says, ‘She just accused me of a spelling mistake. She was reading my texts over my shoulder. LOL. I find this amusing.'”

A day following their appearance on “The Viall Files” podcast, the duo addressed the public’s reaction—wherein Joy mentioned that many individuals seemed more upset about her reading out the message rather than being bothered by the woman using offensive language around children.

Viall stated, “Raising a child increases your empathy across all areas of life. For instance, when you observe other parents boarding a flight, you feel compelled to assist them. If I spot a mother with a child getting onto a plane, I’m ready to lend a hand with her luggage whenever possible. Of course, without being overbearing… yet, it can indeed be challenging.”
