About two months following the initial blast, a second explosion took place during flight test number eight. The Starship lost communication shortly after liftoff, and remnants of the spacecraft were observed falling from the sky, stretching from Central Florida all the way to the Caribbean region.
The debut of Starship could happen as soon as May 27.
The launch window will open around 7:30 p.m. CT from Texas.
Following an inquiry into the eighth flight test, multiple modifications were implemented in the hardware to boost Starship’s dependability.
The impending launch will be the inaugural mission featuring a flight-verified Super Heavy booster. This particular booster had been used in Starship’s seventh test flight before successfully returning, according to the company.
Super Heavy is built for full and rapid reuseability and will carry a range of experiments aimed at generating fresh data to enhance the performance and reliability of upcoming rockets.
The Starship will perform another suborbital test flight to accomplish goals that were not achieved in the preceding two trials. Among these aims are conducting initial cargo-related developments and executing several re-entry tests designed to bring the spacecraft back to the starting point for retrieval.
The live webcast of the flight test will start around 30 minutes before liftoff. You can watch the launch via WESH 2, which will be streaming it in the player located at the top of this article.
