Several highways have been opened for this Memorial Day weekend as visitors head towards Mount Rainier National Park.
Highways 410 and 123 on the eastern edge of the park were inaugurated on Friday. However, due to heavy traffic expected over the weekend, officials at the park recommend that visitors plan to arrive early.
Expect crowded trailheads over the weekend, and it’s advisable to have an alternative plan ready in case the parking lots are filled up at your preferred hiking spots.
The park shared on Facebook.
