LAREDO, Texas (KGNS) – As reported by U.S. Customs and Border Protection, the agency handled more than 420 million travelers at border entries in 2024. This marks a rise of 6.6 percent compared to the prior year.
To expedite processing this year, the agency has implemented cutting-edge technology at every port of entry.
One aspect is improved passenger processing, which captures images of travelers and offers biometric verification prior to their arrival at a CBP agent’s station.
Trusted travelers’ programs can also use the seamless border entry which combines a trusted traveler program framework which allows global entry members to move through the inspection process with little interaction with a CBP officer.
Travelers have the option to utilize a mobile passport control application as an expedient and safeguarded method to pre-submit their passport and travel details.
