After making its maiden flight on June 28, 2022, the Gulfstream G800 embarked on an extensive testing phase before obtaining certification from the U.S. Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) and the European Union Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) in April 2025. This approval allowed for the commencement of customer deliveries and enabled the plane’s operational debut throughout the United States and Europe.

The Bombardier Global 7500 Comes Second in Range Compared to the Gulfstream G800.

With a certified range of 7,700 nautical miles or 8,861 miles, the Bombardier Global 7500 is widely recognized as having the second-longest range of any private jet, behind the Gulfstream G800. The 7500 achieves this range while cruising at Mach 0.85 or over 652 miles per hour, with a maximum operating speed of Mach 0.925, or just over 705 miles per hour.

In October 2019, the Bombardier Global 7500 exceeded its certified range with an unprecedented direct flight from Sydney, Australia, to Detroit, Michigan. The aircraft covered a staggering 8,225 nautical miles—equivalent to more than 9,465 miles—which broke its earlier record of 7,990 nautical miles, roughly equivalent to almost 9,200 miles during a journey between Singapore and Tucson, Arizona.
