Passengers and Crew Subdue Passenger Attempting to Open Emergency Exit Mid-Flight, Officials Report

An aircraft traveling from Tokyo to Houston had to make an unscheduled landing at Seattle-Tacoma International Airport (SeaTac) due to a disturbance caused by a disruptive traveler, as reported by airport authorities.

SeaTac spokesperson Chris Guizlo told KHOU 11 News that the All Nippon Airways Flight NH14 landed at SeaTac at around 6:19 a.m. CST.

Guizlo said police and EMS were told that a passenger tried to open an emergency exit door mid-flight. Fellow passengers and crew members restrained the man before landing.

Upon arrival, the man was assessed and it was determined he was experiencing a medical crisis. He was removed from the plane and transported to a nearby hospital for further evaluation.
