$5 Cocktail Hub Set to Expand from Tower District to Old Town Clovis

A well-known eatery and drinking spot in the Tower District is set to expand into Old Town Clovis.

The Lincoln Tavern & Eatery
will launch an establishment on Clovis Avenue, situated between Fourth and Fifth Streets, a short distance away from The Local.

The Lincoln, famous for its $5 cocktail menu and budget-friendly appetizers, debuted on Olive Avenue in 2019. The venue in the Tower District will stay operational.

President Abraham Lincoln appears on the $5 bill, which is why it’s called that.

The Lincoln Clovis plans to launch sometime in early or mid June.

It will occupy the area that was recently vacated.
Neighbors Old Town Clovis
, located at 401 Clovis Ave., Suite 106. That site shut down approximately two weeks ago.

The Neighbors Tap & Cook House located at the intersection of Fowler and Nees avenues will stay operational. Attempts to get comments from anyone associated with Neighbors regarding the closure of their Clovis Avenue site were unsuccessful.

However, their lease was set to expire and the owners intended to scale back, explained Jeff Davis.
Davis Commercial Real Estate
. He’s the manager of the property and a leasing agent who was involved in finding a new tenant for the space.

“He didn’t say they failed there; it was more like they were overwhelmed,” he explained. “Things are progressing nicely at the other site though.”

Once the space opened up, Davis mentioned that his initial call was to The Lincoln, whose proprietors eagerly seized the chance. He stated that the neighbors transferred their holdings to The Lincoln.

The Lincoln

Much of
The Lincoln’s menu
— although not all — cost $5. This price includes the top-selling mango margarita served with a Tajín rim, as well as Buffalo chicken fries topped with blue cheese and Buffalo sauce.

The drink options on the menu fall within the price range of $7 to $9, including beer and wine selections. A complete meal might set you back as much as $14 or $15.

Owners Aaron Gossett and Andrew Karsh claim their business approach succeeds due to high sales volume at affordable prices. Additionally, they avoid wastage by utilizing several of the same ingredients across various dishes.

I believe our pricing strategy has helped us remain competitive in the market,” Gossett stated. “The approach isn’t effective without high volumes.

Gossett mentioned that the site on Clovis Avenue seemed suitable for The Lincoln’s idea due to the surrounding establishments such as pubs and eateries. It encourages patrons to stroll about and explore multiple venues, maybe grabbing a beverage at The Lincoln either prior to or following their visit to another pub, or even heading off to dance elsewhere.

The Lincoln will also offer meals late into the night, addressing the unmet demand for dining after 10 p.m., according to him.

We believe that the Old Town Clovis site closely mirrors what we’re already doing at Tower.
