Stoughton Community Cheers on Wish-Granting Adventure: Send-Off Parade for Disney-Bound Boy

STOUGHTON, Wis. (WMTV) — On Tuesday evening, cars filled the roads for a farewell procession honoring a Stoughton boy who was departing for Disney World with assistance from the Make a Wish Foundation.

Stoughton’s Emergency Services led the way as they wished Jack a great trip. The rest of the cars lined up behind them on W. South Street between Pleasant View Drive up to Gjerstson Street.

Joshua Ripp, who serves as the head of EMS and Fire in Stoughton, expressed his pride at being a part of this endeavor.

It’s definitely one of the best aspects of this profession. I’ve been working in Fire and EMS for quite a while now. Moments like these, when everyone is cheerful and smiling, and we have the opportunity to brighten somebody’s day—that’s what makes it all worthwhile.

Organizers said it took a couple of weeks to plan the event. Ripp said he hoped that this would make Jack even more excited for his trip.

We are looking forward to seeing lots of smiling faces and hearing many cheers. As long as he feels completely happy with us being here, that would be wonderful.

Ripp mentioned that this occasion serves as a means for the community to come together.

It’s a highly prideful community where people genuinely support one another extensively. This statement only scratches the surface of all the various activities that occur.

Ripp additionally mentioned that Jack is a regular presence at the station since he has paid multiple visits to see them.
