What does the North Coast Express bus service to the Oregon Coast entail?

The North Coast Express is a newly launched seasonal bus service aimed at enhancing car-free exploration of the Oregon Coast, particularly for tourists.

According to a statement, “The North Coast Express expands upon the expanding range of car-free travel choices in the area, providing a novel and hassle-free method for exploring the North Coast.”

Visitors have the option to spend an entire day exploring the coast or opt for a more extended stay using our flexibly scheduled multi-day tickets.

The buses will feature complimentary WiFi and charging stations, onboard lavatories, adjustable seating, as well as expansive windows offering scenic views. They will also accommodate wheelchairs. Although storage capacity is restricted, there should still be sufficient space for bicycles, surfboards, coolers, and various oversized belongings.

Led by the Oregon Coast Visitors Association, this pilot initiative receives funding via ticket sales along with grants from entities such as the Oregon Department of Transportation, the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, and also benefits from additional contributions sourced from Travel Oregon and revenue generated under the state’s transient lodging tax.

The Oregon Coast Visitors Association has joined forces with Ecoshuttle for this initiative.

On which days will the North Coast Express offer bus services to the Oregon Coast?

The service will be available on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays starting from May 23 until the conclusion of August.

From which location does the North Coast Express bus to the Oregon Coast leave?

The early morning coastal route will feature two express services departing from the Sunset Transit Center located in Beaverton.

The northward train heads towards Cannon Beach, Seaside, and Astoria.

The southward train heads towards Rockaway Beach and the Tillamook Creamery.

During the evening, both express routes will head back to Beaverton.

The midday coastal connection service will enable passengers to board and disembark at various towns along the coast.
