The Transportation Security Administration’s regional spokesperson, Mark Howell, encourages passengers to move quickly.
“There’s currently some delay to obtain one here in Kentucky,” Howell mentioned.
A Kentucky resident named Camden Erizer mentioned that he spent almost two months obtaining one earlier this year.
“The entire procedure took quite some time and seemed lengthy. There was a substantial delay,” Erizer mentioned.
Residents such as Lisa Greenlee encounter hold-ups because of incomplete paperwork, whereas others like Lisa Collins and Nicole Russell debate the cost-effectiveness or relevance of certain procedures, often turning to options like using passports instead.
Lengthy queues at the DMV have increased the frustration for numerous individuals requiring the federally compliant ID.
“Previously, whenever I visited the DMV, it was quite challenging. Nonetheless, I possess a driver’s license which permits me to operate a vehicle. Additionally, I own a passport card for domestic travel. However, I feel this isn’t essential,” explained Collins.
