“It’s delightful to honor your heritage,” remarked Cindi Heffner, who teaches hula dancing. “Here we’ve been practicing hula for over ten years now. It has indeed been fantastic, and through hula, I maintain my link to my cultural roots.”

For many years, since Hawaiians lacked a written language, hula evolved as their means to convey and safeguard narratives.
Heffner mentioned that today they merely introduced them to the movements associated with the term ‘aloha,’ which represents five fundamental life values.
Aloha stands as an acronym comprising five distinct terms: Akahai signifies kindness; Lokahi represents unity; ‘Olu’olu denotes agreeableness; Ha’aha’a embodies humility; and Ahonui reflects patience.
These principles are universal,” Heffner stated. “They apply to everyone, not just the Hawaiians. We all need to embrace the spirit of Aloha and work together to create a better world.
