Beach enthusiasts should aim to visit Greece and Australia before the end of the year, as both countries have three beaches among the world’s top 50.
Greece’s hidden gem, Fteri Beach on Kefalonia, makes it as high as number four on the list. However, the European favorite also includes Voutoumi Beach on the island of Antipaxos at position 16, along with the dramatic Porto Katsiki on Lefkada Island ranking at 36.
In the meantime, some of Australia’s beaches featured on this year’s list encompass Western Australia’s Turquoise Bay at number 11, the secluded Wharton Beach ranked 21st situated along the nation’s south coast, and Nudey Beach, which secured the 37th spot; it serves as an entryway to the Great Barrier Reef found on Fitzroy Island near the shores of Queensland.
The new additions for this year’s list encompass nations such as Madagascar, Yemen, Antigua & Barbuda, United Arab Emirates, Sri Lanka, Costa Rica, Tanzania, France, Ireland, and the Maldives. Overseas territories have also been included, like American Samoa, the British Virgin Islands, and Bonaire.
The only American beach to rank within the top 50 was Florida’s Siesta Beach, placing at number 42 this year.
