SAN DIEGO (FOX 5/KUSI) — One of La Jolla’s beloved springtime customs has returned.
La Jolla Historical Society
The 26th Annual Secret Garden Tour will be hosted on Saturday, May 17, providing visitors with a special chance to discover some of the area’s most stunning and private gardens.
This special event provides an opportunity to explore six lesser-known garden treasures located within privately owned estates in La Jolla. Their exact addresses remain undisclosed until the date of the tour itself. These verdant spaces highlight the creativity of nearby landscape experts, builders, and stylists. Visitors can also enjoy live musical performances, outdoor art demonstrations by plein air painters, as well as sophisticated table settings throughout each venue.
Participants can enjoy the tour through two methods, outlined below:
—
Self-Guided Tour
Stroll through the gardens at your leisure.
—
Platinum Tour
Enjoy a more personalized experience, featuring an additional garden, specially prepared lunch, and guided shuttle service connecting each stop of your tour.

Returning this season is the Secret Garden Boutique located within Wisteria Cottage, which welcomes visitors during daytime hours. Guests have the opportunity to browse an array of artisanal garden tools, plants, and gift items. Additionally, they can join a silent auction offering exclusive pieces. The event will feature locally grown, fresh produce for sale as well.
The La Jolla Historical Society states that funds generated from this event will support their exhibits and educational initiatives in La Jolla. This ensures that the community’s extensive legacy remains an inspiration for upcoming generations.
Organizers encourage early reservations, as tickets to both the tour and the Secret Garden Party are expected to sell out. For tickets and more information, visit:
